Last night I was wondering what is the place that has the most check-ins on Foursquare.
It is probably some popular place in the USA. What could it be? Disneyland? Some touristic place?
Wrong! According to Foursquare, the places with the most check-ins are airports. That makes a lot of sense actually. When you leave or arrive somewhere, you are happy to show your friends where you are by checking-in.
So, the big winner is….
The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is the most checked-in place on Foursquare, with more than 632,000 check-ins at the moment.
It wins over the Los Angeles International Airport (608,000 check-ins), the San Francisco International Airport (580,000 check-ins) or the John F. Kennedy International Airport (380,000 check-ins).
And what about Disneyland?
Disneyland has “only” 200,000 check-ins.
Airports are definitely the big winners on foursquare.
To become the mayor of those places with so much check-ins, you will have to be very active. The mayors of those places checked-in every single day for 2 months to win the position.
